I do not claim to know all the ‘ins’ and ‘outs’ of success but I will share the lessons I myself have learned from others and practice today. | e Recently I was asked to give young people on Metro FM some advice on how to make 2006 their best year ever. I only had a minute to compress all that I could say, so I had to make it simple and straight forward. Before looking at 2006 it is vital that you make sure the book is closed on 2005. 2005 is over, never to be seen again, whether it was a great year or a very trying one there is no more point in you dwelling there. Learn what you can from last year’s experiences and move on! Dwelling on the successes and failures of 2005 is a sure way to make 2006 a failure. I really believe that to make 2006 your best year ever you need to focus on investing on your future. Investment is often associated with money, but to invest means to sacrifice something now so that you can enjoy the benefits later. Investment also means that you put a little effort now to multiply the benefits that you will enjoy some time in the near future. As young adults and young people in general investment is not a popular concept with us as our mantra is often “I want it and I want it now!” But I want to challenge you to try me on this one, investing in your future will make your year the best yet! Invest in Your Future! I have broken this into five areas that you can focus on investing in this year: |
